“Harlan County USA”

Examines a coal mining strike in Harlan County Kentucky in 1973. The soundtrack, which came out in 2006, has a wide range of bluegrass music, including artists like Hazel Dickens and Johnson Mountain Boys.
Director Alex Glibney gives an overview of writer Hunter S. Thompson’s life. Soundtrack features many influential bands from Thompson’s life like Bob Dylan and Jefferson Airplane.
“The War”

Ken Burns directs an examination of World War II in seven parts. In addition to the main soundtrack, there also are separate cds for sentimental hits, dance hits and classical music from the era.
